Dr. Chris Parkinson, DDS, MS
After receiving his dental training at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska, Dr. Chris Parkinson completed two years of advanced training in orthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. His passion for the art of straightening teeth is demonstrated through the numerous scholastic awards he received during his training. Now, he brings that same passion and dedication to his patients every day.
Committed to meeting and exceeding standards of excellence in orthodontics, Dr. Parkinson is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association and the Benton-Franklin Dental Society. He also committed to maintaining a state-of-the-art practice and utilizing the most current technologies available. To remain up to date with the latest advancements in orthodontics he, as well as everyone on our team, frequently attend continuing education seminars.
When he’s not helping patients get perfect smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their four children—Hailey, Brendon, McKenna and Madi. Together, they sponsor and participate in local youth sports and enjoy the great outdoors. Dr. Parkinson is an avid hunter, fisherman and SCUBA diver.
Dr. David Butler, DMD, MS
Dr. Dave Butler received his dental school training at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. He then went on to complete his orthodontic training at the University of Louisville, where he served as Class President and earned both a certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. During his education, he also participated in several research projects and was the recipient of numerous awards. Due to his excellence in clinical skills, Dr. Butler was also invited to serve as a teacher both during dental school and residency.
A self-diagnosed “tooth nerd,” Dr. Butler wants his patients to not only have straight teeth and a healthy, stable bite, but also a confident smile that lights up the face and reflects the patient’s unique personality. What really makes his day is seeing the changes, not only in the patient’s teeth, but in their lives as well.
After graduating, Dr. Butler practiced in Texas but is now truly excited to be back with his family and friends in the Northwest and providing top-quality orthodontic treatment in Richland, Washington. He lives in Richland with his wife, Briana, their sons Trenton, Dallas, Quincy and daughters Brooklyn, Lexi and Ali. He is an avid golfer and outdoors man and enjoys camping, fishing, and nature photography.
Colleena has has been working in the orthodontic field since 2003 and truly loves helping people get beautiful smiles to last a lifetime. She enjoys meeting new patients at their initial consultation and helping them to make the best decisions regarding their oral care. She has been married 35 years, has three children and six grandchildren. In her free time she likes to play games and travel with her family. She also hopes to write a series of children’s books one day.
Eva has been our financial coordinator since 2003 and has more than 20 years of experience in dentistry and orthodontics. Like everyone here, she loves being part of the process of creating beautiful smiles. In her words, “it’s exciting to see the kids grow up right before my eyes.” Eva grew up in the Lower Yakima Valley. After graduating from high school, she lived in Spokane and Missoula, Montana. She is married and has a grown son, Justin, who lives in Oregon. When Eva isn’t at the office, she enjoys hunting, fishing and going on road trips with her husband, as well as traveling. Next time you are in ask her of her most recent adventures.
Melody has been with us since 2003. Melody learned Spanish in High School by traveling to Mexico and enjoys helping Spanish speaking families feel right at home in our office. She loves to travel to warm places, Hawaii, Mexico and San Diego. Melody also enjoys camping, fishing and hiking with her husband. Melody has a daughter who attends WSU. She also enjoys gardening and sometimes displays her beautiful flowers throughout our office.
Mayra decided that she wanted to work at Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics shortly after getting braces from us. She had such a great experience interacting with our team that she couldn’t wait to become a part of it. Now, she greets people with her beautiful smile and answers any questions patients may have. Mayra comes from a Mexican family and is fluent in English and Spanish. In her free time, Mayra enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. She also loves talking to people and telling stories, as well as cooking, painting and working out.
Andrea joined Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics in December 2014. She was a patient here and knew it would be a great place to work. Andrea’s friends call her “Andii”. Andii hopes to go on missions with her husband someday. According to Andii, the best part of working at PBO is seeing how happy and confident people are about their smiles when they walk out of the office. In her free time, Andii loves to bake, sing and is very active in her church. She someday hopes, to travel the world spreading love and happiness to others.
Jackie joined the PBO Team in March 2016. She loves to greet our patients when they arrive and enjoys seeing patients have an awesome experience at each appointment. Jackie knows a lot about braces; she had braces with PBO as a teenager. When Jackie isn’t scheduling appointments or mixing up soft serve ice cream, she enjoys cooking, camping, and swimming. Jackie enjoys spending time with her family and friends on the weekends. She also loves to make people laugh, especially her coworkers.
Jill has been an orthodontic assistant since 2002 and has been a part of our team since 2007. Jill loves her assisting position and really enjoys getting to know her patients. She is always thrilled to see how a new, beautiful smile can influence a person’s life. She loves to travel to Hawaii at least once each year. She also enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle, making regular visits to the gym. She spends her free time boating on the Columbia River with her family as well as spending time with her husband and their two small children.
Cynthia joined Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics after completing her internship here in November 2013. For fun, Cynthia likes to do family-oriented activities with her kids Brooklyn, Alexander and Presley. She really enjoys getting to know the patients and loves her job.
Andrea joined the PBO Team in 2016, with 3 years as chair side assistant in general dentistry, Andrea has a wealth of knowledge. Andrea is married and has two handsome boys. Andrea enjoys spending all her spare time with her family. Some of her hobbies are: cooking and scrap booking. Her favorite time of the year is summer, she enjoys camping, fishing, and swimming.
Andrea loves helping people gain confidence with their new smile and enjoys the independence she receives being an orthodontic assistant.
Holly, Orthodontic Assistant
Holly relocated from Virginia, where she worked as an orthodontic assistant. Holly is married and has two spoiled dogs, Diesel and Sasha. In her spare time Holly can be found hunting and fishing. She also enjoys sewing and reading. She finds pleasure in seeing patients get thesmile they have always dream of. Holly enjoys seeing people renew their confidence through their new smile. She tells her patients to never stop smiling and show off their smile!
Vanessa joined the PBO team in January of 2017. Vanessa has many years of dental assisting experience, including over nine years working in oral surgery, general dental and Orthodontics. When not assisting at PBO, Vanessa spends time with her little boy and husband on the farm. She enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and watching football and Nascar races. She enjoys playing outside with her son, who loves monster trucks, and keeps her yellow lab, Tucker, in shape playing fetch. Vanessa says she always notices teeth when meeting new people and enjoys being a part of creating beautiful smiles.
Nancy, Orthodontic Assistant
Nancy started with our office in the Spring of 2017 after her internship at PBO. Nancy has three daughters and enjoys adventures outdoors with her family. She loves, nature and camping but says there’s nothing like relaxing days at home watching movies and eating pizza. Nancy says she can relate to her patients because she currently has braces. She loves seeing smiles drastically change. Nancy says she loves watching kids and adults start to enjoy their new smile.
Erika, Orthodontic Assistant
Erika has over 11 years of experience in pediatrics and orthodontics. She has twin daughters and loves spending with her family. Erika treats herself to “Roasters” often. She enjoys hiking, boating, and surfing with family and friends. Erika loves orthodontics because of the fun energy and the amazing patients.
Yara, Orthodontic Assistant
Yara has experience in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and oral surgery. Yara enjoys hanging out with friends and family. She is a great dancer and dances to all types of music. She enjoys a good movie. Yara enjoys meeting people and learning about their cultures. Yara is bilingual in Spanish and English.At PBO Yara enjoys making a difference in patients lives by helping bring them a brighter healthier smile.
Llesenia, Records/Lab Technician
Llesenia started with Parkinson Butler Orthodontics in 2017. She creates appliances and retainers in our lab. She also takes all the records (photos and xrays). Llesenia enjoys seeing patients before, during and after treatment. In her spare time Llesenia enjoys lifting weights, running and swimming. Llesenia also ejoys spending time with her daughter and two sons.
