Dr. Chris Parkinson, DDS, MS
After receiving his dental training at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska, Dr. Chris Parkinson completed two years of advanced training in orthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. His passion for the art of straightening teeth is demonstrated through the numerous scholastic awards he received during his training. Now, he brings that same passion and dedication to his patients every day.
Committed to meeting and exceeding standards of excellence in orthodontics, Dr. Parkinson is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Washington State Dental Association and the Benton-Franklin Dental Society. He also committed to maintaining a state-of-the-art practice and utilizing the most current technologies available. To remain up to date with the latest advancements in orthodontics he, as well as everyone on our team, frequently attend continuing education seminars.
When he’s not helping patients get perfect smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their four children—Hailey, Brendon, McKenna and Madi. Together, they sponsor and participate in local youth sports and enjoy the great outdoors. Dr. Parkinson is an avid hunter, fisherman and SCUBA diver.
Dr. David Butler, DMD, MS
Dr. Dave Butler received his dental school training at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. He then went on to complete his orthodontic training at the University of Louisville, where he served as Class President and earned both a certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. During his education, he also participated in several research projects and was the recipient of numerous awards. Due to his excellence in clinical skills, Dr. Butler was also invited to serve as a teacher both during dental school and residency.
A self-diagnosed “tooth nerd,” Dr. Butler wants his patients to not only have straight teeth and a healthy, stable bite, but also a confident smile that lights up the face and reflects the patient’s unique personality. What really makes his day is seeing the changes, not only in the patient’s teeth, but in their lives as well.
After graduating, Dr. Butler practiced in Texas but is now truly excited to be back with his family and friends in the Northwest and providing top-quality orthodontic treatment in Richland, Washington. He lives in Richland with his wife, Briana, their sons Trenton, Dallas, Quincy and daughters Brooklyn, Lexi and Ali. He is an avid golfer and outdoors man and enjoys camping, fishing, and nature photography.
Colleena has has been working in the orthodontic field since 2003 and truly loves helping people get beautiful smiles to last a lifetime. She enjoys meeting new patients at their initial consultation and helping them to make the best decisions regarding their oral care. She has been married 35 years, has three children and six grandchildren. In her free time she likes to play games and travel with her family. She also hopes to write a series of children’s books one day.
Eva has been our financial coordinator since 2003 and has more than 20 years of experience in dentistry and orthodontics. Like everyone here, she loves being part of the process of creating beautiful smiles. In her words, “it’s exciting to see the kids grow up right before my eyes.” Eva grew up in the Lower Yakima Valley. After graduating from high school, she lived in Spokane and Missoula, Montana. She is married and has a grown son, Justin, who lives in Oregon. When Eva isn’t at the office, she enjoys hunting, fishing and going on road trips with her husband, as well as traveling. Next time you are in ask her of her most recent adventures.
Melody has been with us since 2003. Melody learned Spanish in High School by traveling to Mexico and enjoys helping Spanish speaking families feel right at home in our office. She loves to travel to warm places, Hawaii, Mexico and San Diego. Melody also enjoys camping, fishing and hiking with her husband. Melody has a daughter who attends WSU. She also enjoys gardening and sometimes displays her beautiful flowers throughout our office.
Mayra decided that she wanted to work at Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics shortly after getting braces from us. She had such a great experience interacting with our team that she couldn’t wait to become a part of it. Now, she greets people with her beautiful smile and answers any questions patients may have. Mayra comes from a Mexican family and is fluent in English and Spanish. In her free time, Mayra enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. She also loves talking to people and telling stories, as well as cooking, painting and working out.
Andrea joined Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics in December 2014. She was a patient here and knew it would be a great place to work. Andrea’s friends call her “Andii”. Andii hopes to go on missions with her husband someday. According to Andii, the best part of working at PBO is seeing how happy and confident people are about their smiles when they walk out of the office. In her free time, Andii loves to bake, sing and is very active in her church. She someday hopes, to travel the world spreading love and happiness to others.
Jackie joined the PBO Team in March 2016. She loves to greet our patients when they arrive and enjoys seeing patients have an awesome experience at each appointment. Jackie knows a lot about braces; she had braces with us as a teenager. When Jackie isn’t scheduling appointments or mixing up soft serve ice cream, she enjoys cooking, camping, and swimming. Jackie enjoys spending time with her friends but you can usually find her hanging out with her family on the weekends. She also loves to make people laugh, especially her coworkers.
Jill has been an orthodontic assistant since 2002 and has been a part of our team since 2007. Jill loves her assisting position and really enjoys getting to know her patients. She is always thrilled to see how a new, beautiful smile can influence a person’s life. She loves to travel to Hawaii at least once each year. She also enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle, making regular visits to the gym. She spends her free time boating on the Columbia River with her family as well as spending time with her husband and their two small children.
Cynthia joined Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics after completing her internship here in November 2013. For fun, Cynthia likes to do family-oriented activities with her kids Brooklyn and Alexander. She really enjoys getting to know the patients and loves her job.
Andrea joined the PBO Team in 2016, with 3 years as chair side assistant in general dentistry, Andrea has a wealth of knowledge. Andrea is married with a little boy who is 2 years old and is excited to expand her family! Andrea enjoys spending all her spare time with her little boy. With Hobbies of cooking, scrap booking, Andrea likes to fill her time with her family and friends and creating memories. Her favorite time of the year is summer when she and her family can go camping, fishing, and swimming.
Andrea loves helping people gain confidence with their new smile. Also Andrea enjoys the independence she receives being an orthodontic assistant.
Genesis joined the Parkinson
+Butler Orthodontics team in April 2015. She has experience as an oral surgery assistant and has also worked at a denture clinic. Genesis’ daughter Mia is one year old and enjoys going for walks with mom and helping create their family recipe book. Genesis is also active in her church and enjoys soccer, jet skiing, dancing, shopping and baking. For her, the best part of working at PBO is that we help build smiles that last a lifetime. Genesis especially likes witnessing the confidence, non-stop smiles and sometimes tears of patients when they finish treatment.
Hattie joined our team in April 2015. She is a graduate of Charter College with a background in dental and orthodontic care. For Hattie, the best part of working at PBO is meeting and building relationships with our patients and teaching them that braces not only help give them a beautiful smile, but they also help to achieve healthy, functioning teeth. When Hattie isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her 16 year old son and she relaxes while listening to him play the guitar. Hattie is big into the outdoors and likes to camp, hike, fish and ride horseback.
Kendall attended dental assisting school and joined our team in 2015. Kendall enjoys getting to know all our orthodontic patients and creating beautiful smiles. She enjoys hiking and playing volleyball. She loves to spend time outdoors. She has a kitty named Griffey. Kendall says her weaknesses are ice cream and hot Cheetos.
Nikki joined Parkinson + Butler Orthodontics in 2016. With over 8 years experience combined in dental, pediatric, and general orthodontia, Nikki is a wealth of knowledge. Nikki’s family life includes spending time with her nephew who is her “Whole World!” She describes herself as a very active person. She loves hiking, playing basketball, cooking/baking, and reading a good book!
Nikki says the process of straitening your teeth can be tough, but the out come is amazing! She loves making people smile again.
Wendy joined Parkinson+Butler Orthodontics in the beginning of 2016. She is a graduate of Charter College and is the first person in her family to do so. She was born in Medellin, Columbia and moved to the Tri-Cities in 2014. She has a son named Johan, and in her spare time, she enjoys carnival rides, music festivals, art museums, movies, dancing and traveling. She says the best thing about working at PBO is being able to change the world one smile at a time and also watching the patient’s face light up when they see their new smile for the first time.
